IVF World Sprints 2008

Congratulations Island Masters for their gold sweep in the V6 500, 1000 and V12 500 in the Golden Master Category. These women are 55 and older and are the only Hawaiians to have taken the Gold.

The IVF World Sprints is an event held every two years all over the world. In August 2008 they were held on Lake Natoma in Sacramento. It is the premier sprinting event in the world for Outrigger Canoe races and draws teams from Europe, Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Australia and many of the Polynesian Islands.

The girls making up the winning team are Vivian Griffin, Cammie Kimball, Penny Martin, Vanessa Weiss, Carleen Ornellas, and Patty Eames.

SUP Getting Some Big Press

Noah Shimabukuro with KIALOA Surf paddle Huntington Beach California was host to the Corona SUP Challenge on July 27th. An estimated 100,000 people were watching the event putting Stand Up Paddle Surfing on the map. Competing were some of the most notable names in surfing but it was Noah Shimabukuro with his KIALOA Nalu surf paddle that won the day.
