How to SIZE YOUR OUTRIGGER Paddle

Use the chart to help you determine what length paddle might be best for you. The following are some things to take into consideration:

  1. If you have broader than average shoulders, go to the high end of the range.
  2. If you have a longer torso than average for your height, go to the high end of the range.
  3. When ordering a paddle to be used with a one or two person canoe, go to the middle or low end of the range. (Most people use a shorter paddle in a one person versus a six-person canoe.)
  4. Remember, these are general guidelines so please take into account your personal preferences.

How to SIZE YOUR SURF Paddle

As a general guide for sizing your surf paddle add 8 inches to your overall height to determine the paddle length. Our chart is based on 8 inches. However, depending on the type of paddling you intend to do, it may vary. The reason we give a range is because of the differences in technique, boards and water conditions.  While our data is anecdotal, it is based on the trends we see with our customers and team riders.

"Heck, half of our team riders don't even know how long their paddle is.  My thoughts on paddle sizing is based on my shoe buying method.  I never listen to the shoe salesman, the shoes are on my feet so how would he know how they fit?"
